The Brownies

At 7 years old Rosie decided she would like to be a Brownie - she had heard that they got to make tea and cakes for people. This appealed very much to her. She loved domestic tasks including cooking. When we had visitors Rosie was always the perfect hostess. The tea would be brought in on a tray with a small posy of flowers out of the garden. We often joked with her that she would make someone a lovely maid!

She continued to be the perfect hostess even to the family. Often we would come home to Rosie's cookies or even a meal, which was always a lovely surprise.
